Love letters

Do people still write love letters? Texts and emails are not the same. There is something romantic about putting pen to paper and writing your feeelings down. You can also keep a love letter for years. Its something to read over again years later, bringing personal memories flooding back. Find someone to write to on singlenotdesperate.com

Cool Britannia

The Royal Wedding definately makes you proud to be British. I can't think of another country where this type of occasion would be watched by over 2 billion people. Cool Britannia is on the rise again.

Is it so bad to be a bit forward?

Most women on dating sites wait to be contacted, but men would love them to take the initiative. So ladies, make your choice and get your love life under control - you make the choices and get what you want! You may be pleasently surprised...

Rekindle romance in your life

It needn't cost a fortune to do something unexpected. All the vouchers available now make a meal out very affordable. I like Cafe Rouge and Zizi both excellent value and they are always having offers. Or as the weather is better now, how about a pic-nic. Nip into M&S for some posh nosh that will impress. You could even make it yourself. Here are some ideas from the BBC website

Cheesy TV quotes

We should all be so lucky to have someone who will never let us go. The ultimate legacy is to leave behind someone who will love you forever.

Is marriage a business?

The latest idea is to treat you marriage as a business where you trade skills rather than splitting every task down the middle. It does make some sense as if one person is great at putting up shelves, but the other can't knock a nail in straight it is obvious who has to do the DIY. It still leaves all the rubbish jobs though... can you be skilled at washing up or putting the bins out? Old fashioned give and take seems to be the answer. Try it at single not desperate. If you watch this video you will see that clearly washing up is skilled after all!

Facebook problems

Is it me or is Facebook difficult to use? I have just spent about an hour trying to add a post when previously I could get to where I want with one click. They must have a team of people who change things just to baffle users. A bit like when the supermarket moves everything so that you spend hours doing the shopping. Very annoying!
Try single not desperate its much easier to use!

Garage love

You know when you take your car for its annual test and there is that horrible feeling that you are going to get a huge bill? Well this morning my car passed first time! I now have warm feelings towards garage mechanics in general - until the next time the car goes wrong.
I need to get onto single not desperate now!!! See here for an extreme case of MOT testing blues!

Liz Taylor Richard Burton film

Rumours have it that a film is to be made about the stormy romance and marriages of Liz Taylor and Richard Burton. Hollywood actors Catherine Zeta-Jones, Angelina Jolie and Russell Crowe have been linked with the staring roles.

A book by Sam Kashner and Nancy Schoenberger - entitled Furious Love: Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton, and the Marriage of the Century - is said to be the basis for the film.

Those of us who remember it first time around will be interested to see how this plays out. See if you can find your Richard or Liz on Singlenotdesperate

Is good enough good enough?

Most dating industry pundits agree that making a compromise over the person you are dating results in a much needed dose of reality. Looking for that perfect match is going to be virtually impossible, so it seems to be best to think of a few things that are really important and stick to those. After all if someone has a huge nose or a bit of a tum, does it really matter? To my mind a sense of humour, generosity and looking on the bright side goes a long way.

Getting to the station on time - or not

Had to catch the 8:45 to London this morning. About 2 inches of snow fell last night and when I went to get the car out it slid all over the place. At one time I was stuck right across the road and couldn't go back or forward. Smug 4 wheel drive owners crept by, but didn't offer to help.

Eventually gave up, then thought, lets try our other little car to see if that is any better. The snag was we haven't driven it for about 2 weeks, (how good is my carbon footprint!) so there was about 1 foot of snow all over it. Once cleared, it zoomed out no problem and got me all the way to the station. Of course the train had gone by then, but I got the next one. Great western said use your existing ticket, even though it was for the earlier train, at no extra cost. Good job Ryanair isn't running the railways, you can just see them letting you do that!

Got to London, no snow, but people dressed ready for a hike up Everest - we country folk know what real snow is!!!

Arthur Daley eat your heart out

With all this snow I dug out my sheepskin jacket. Old and musty it may be, but it certainly keeps the drafts out. All I need is a cigar, a mark4 Jag and a trilby and I will be the man himself. Imagine my surprise when people like Kate Moss are donning their sheepskin jackets too. Wow I am the height of fashion!

Oh no! the G-Spot is a myth!

After extensive research it seems that the G-Spot, beloved of 60s sexperts doesn't exist. I have been hoping to come across one at some time, but so far no luck. Oh well seems like I was wasting time....
